Jakobson Gallery: One place, one soul, a new name.
For nearly thirty years, a gallery in the heart of Le Marais has carried a rare conviction: that the right work of art can change the way you see the world. On March 1st, Ariel Jakob Gallery becomes Jakobson Gallery, a turning point that leaves nothing behind. The same demanding eye in the selection of artists, the same soul in every hanging, the same attention given to those who walk through the door. New artists join those who shaped the gallery's history, extending the dialogue between matter, light and emotion. The greatest stories do not end, they simply continue, differently.

Some places hold the memory of everything that has happened within their walls. The hushed conversations in front of a painting. The buzz of an opening night. The gazes that shift upon encountering a work of art. For nearly thirty years, the gallery in Le Marais has been one of those places. And today, it turns a page, without erasing a thing. On March 1st, Ariel Jakob Gallery becomes Jakobson Gallery. 1997. Le Marais, a door opens. Ariel and Nathalie Sibony chose one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Paris to plant their vision. At the heart of the Place des Vosges, in a Marais already alive with art and creation, they opened a gallery that resembled no one but themselves. No formula. No recipe. Just the conviction that the right work of art can change the way you see the world. The gallery was first called Sibman Gallery. It evolved, grew, found its rhythm. Collectors became loyal friends. Artists became family. In 2016, it took the name Ariel Jakob Gallery and with it, a new maturity. What you choose to show says who you are. Over the years, the gallery championed artists whose works shared a rare quality: the ability to create a presence. Denis Frémond, Magi Puig, Fabrice Hyber, Valérie Hadida, Jonathan Huxley, Gaillard, Fifax, Stéphane Halleux, each a singular universe, carried with conviction. Today, new names are writing themselves into this story: Romain Langlois, Jürgen Lingl, Olivier Bertrand, Larisa Safaryan, David Palmer, Ogringo. A new generation extending the dialogue between matter, light and emotion. Tom Sibony did not take over a gallery. He continued a story. Some children grow up in kitchens, others in bookshops. Tom grew up in a gallery. Between hangings and opening nights, artists' conversations and the stillness of visitors stopped in their tracks by a work, he learned to look before he learned to speak. When the time came to take the reins, he did not seek to reinvent everything. He brought what he had to bring, new artists, new energies, a sensibility forged through years of observation, while preserving what made the soul of the place. "I grew up in this gallery. Today, my desire is to share art the way I discovered it myself, and to open it up to everyone, especially my generation, who do not always dare to walk through a gallery door. Because at heart, art belongs to everyone." Jakobson Gallery. The next chapter. A name changes. A vision remains. Jakobson Gallery enters this new chapter with the same exacting standards as at its beginning and a sincere desire to go further. To open doors, to build bridges, to make the gallery a place where anyone, whatever their relationship with art, can find something that belongs to them. Because the greatest stories do not end. They simply continue, differently.
